Toyota Repair at R&M Automotive of Denham Springs Inc.

Our shop specializes in Toyota repair and are familiar with the common problems that may arise. For instance, if you have a Prius model, you might experience a problem where the brake pedal goes to the floor or has little pressure when it is pushed down. This may be due to air in the brake fluid that needs to be bled, a faulty master cylinder that needs to be replaced, or a low brake fluid level. Many Toyota owners have experienced where they cannot turn the ignition key to start their vehicle, so you might need to have someone lubricate the ignition lock cylinder with graphite powder or have a mechanic tighten the steering column mounting bolts. Toyota owners sometimes experience power window switch issues on the passenger side or sticky gas pedals that cause sudden acceleration. The latter can be quite dangerous, if you can imagine stop and go traffic only slightly starting to pick up and your sudden acceleration slamming you into the car in front of you.

It is imperative you keep your Toyota brakes in good repair. You never know when you might unexpectedly hit traffic and have to make a sudden stop or when a kid might run out in the middle of the street without seeing you coming. Having them go out could cause a serious accident. Our professional opinion is that brakes should be inspected at least once a year, especially if you commute a lot and often take long road trips.

We also recommend you get your brakes inspected if there is a low or spongy brake pedal, hard brake pedal, the brake warning light stays on, or you continuously hear squealing or grinding sounds when pressing it. Toyota upgraded their brakes around 2003 to be better for their later models, but still driving habits can cause rotor issues, no matter which vehicle. Our technicians understand the brake system; from the drum models to disc models and electronic anti-lock brake sensors, brake pedals to hydraulic brake fluid, and brake master cylinder to power brake booster. We’ll make sure you are up and going in no time.
